Purple has always meant something to me.
It is my mother’s favorite color.
It was Prince.
It was expression without permission.

Purple Reign was my way of honoring the music, the electricity, and the freedom to exist exactly as you are — without needing to be understood.

Over time, purple stopped being just a color to me and became a language. I began to see it as royalty not the kind handed down by bloodlines, but the kind you claim by knowing who you are. Purple doesn’t come from one place. You can’t have it without blue and red. Calm and fire. Depth and passion. Two primary forces meeting in the middle to create something extraordinary.

People often miss that part that purple is born from combination. From balance. From contrast. From two strong things choosing to coexist.

Blue and red show up everywhere in our daily world. They are familiar. Expected. But when they come together, they become something elevated. Something intentional. Something that doesn’t ask for approval.

Every salon I’ve owned carried purple at the forefront. That was never accidental. It was my way of reaching toward something my mother loved — and then transforming it into something I loved for myself. A bridge between what I inherited and what I became. A way of honoring her without losing me.

Prince understood that. Whether he ever explained it outright or not, he moved like someone who knew exactly what purple represented. He chose a color that refused to be boxed in. A color that lived between masculine and feminine, softness and strength, discipline and rebellion. His style, his sound, his presence — all of it existed outside permission.
Purple Reign isn’t just a nod to a song — it’s a declaration. A reminder that creativity is sovereignty. That self-expression is power. That when you fully step into who you are, you don’t just exist… you reign.

This shade carries all of that for me — my mother, my love for Prince, my understanding of creativity as something whole and unapologetic. Purple Reign is about claiming space, owning presence, and standing fully in your own authority.
